IOWA CITY, Iowa — Check out our social media rundown from Sunday night’s Iowa men’s basketball victory over Northwestern. Jordan Bohannon made his first two free throws to extend his consecutive free throw streak to 34, which tied the legendary Chris Street’s record. Street established the record in January, 1993, but his streak abruptly ending when he died in an auto accident.

Bohannon had an opportunity to make the record breaking free throw in the closing minutes of the game, but chose to preserve Street’s name in the Hawkeye record books and left his attempt short. The sophomore guard’s classy act spread on social media throughout the country.
