Gustafson Earns WBCA All-Region Honors

IOWA CITY, Iowa — University of Iowa junior Megan Gustafson has been named a WBCA All-Region honoree, the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association announced Thursday.
 
The WBCA selection committee will select the 10-member WBCA Division I Coaches’ All-America team from the list of 52 All-Region honorees.
 
It is the first WBCA All-Region selection of Gustafson’s career. The All-American is the 14th Hawkeye in program history to earn WBCA All-Region honors and the first since Samantha Logic earned the distinction in 2015.
 
Gustafson, a native of Port Wing, Wisconsin, averaged 25.7 points, 12.8 rebounds, and shot 67.1 percent from the field in 32 contests this season. The Big Ten Player of the Year leads the nation in points per game (25.7), field goal percentage (67.1), and field goals made (320). She also ranks second in double-doubles (28), third in total points (823), fourth in defensive rebounds per game (9), and fifth in total rebounds (411) and rebounds per game (12.8).
 
The 2018 WBCA NCAA Division I Coaches’ All-America team will be announced on March 29, during the WBCA Convention in Columbus, Ohio.
