MEET THE COACHES

HEAD COACH ROSS WILSON

Ross Wilson, a former two-time NCAA All-American and three-time ITA national doubles champion at Ohio State, is in his seventh season as the Mellecker Family Head Men’s Tennis Coach and ninth year with the University of Iowa men’s tennis program. Over the course of Wilson’s first five years as head coach, Iowa won 74 matches, a total that ties for fifth most over a five-year span in program history.

Assistant Coach Lloyd Bruce-Burgess

Bruce-Burgess helped guide Iowa to a 12-2 start in 2020 and a program-best national ranking as high as No. 23. In fall individual competition, five student-athletes qualified for the ITA Fall National Championships, including two Iowa doubles teams qualifying for the first time in two decades. In the spring, Bruce-Burgess and the Hawkeyes knocked off three ranked opponents No. 16 Cornell, No. 35 Denver, and No 50 VCU.
