IOWA WOMEN’S ROWING HAWKEYES SWEEP VARSITY EVENTS
DES MOINES, IA — For the fifth year in a row, the University of Iowa women’s rowing team dominated all of the varsity events at the Head of Des Moines Regatta in Des Moines.
In the Varsity 8+, the Iowa A boat captured first-place with a time of 17:50. The Iowa B boat finished fourth out of 16 with a time of 18:30.
In the Varsity 4+, the Iowa A boat finished first among the 28 boats with a time of 19:13.
The varsity pairs had a sound performance, with all five of Iowa’s boats finishing in the top five. Iowa E claimed first-place with a time of 21:03. The Iowa C and Iowa D boats finished third and fourth, respectively, with times of 22:12 and 22:18. Iowa A and Iowa B pairs tied for fifth place with a time of 22:34.
In the novice events, Iowa’s Boat A finished first in the Women’s Novice 4+ with a time of 22:10, with Boat B finishing ninth out of 19 with a time of 24:16.
The Hawkeyes will take to the water again on Sunday, October 12 at the Head of the Rock Regatta in Rockford, IL.
