The nationally ranked 2003 Iowa Hawkeyes play the Florida Gators in the 2004 Outback Bowl on Jan. 1 in Tampa. Kickoff in Raymond James Stadium is set for shortly after 10 a.m. Iowa time.
Outback Bowl game tickets not purchased by current UI students will be made available to the general public on Saturday via the online Athletic Ticket Office at www.hawkeyesports.com, the official world wide web site.
“It’s very possible, if not likely, that our students will purchase all of these tickets,” said David Sandstrum, the UI’s Director of Ticket Operations.
Sandstrum said approximately 700 UI students purchased approximately 1,100 tickets to last year’s FedEx Orange Bowl. “There appears to be the same level of interest this year among our students which is outstanding,” said Sandstrum.
