When did you start playing volleyball?
“In seventh grade.”
Is there any significance in your uniform number?
“I was born on the 13th. It’s always been my lucky number and it’s a family volleyball tradition my sister started. When she played volleyball she was number 13 and I have been number 13 since I started playing. Hopefully my little sister will do the same.”
What attracted you to the University of Iowa?
“The coaching staff, team and the nursing program.”
What has surprised you most about the University of Iowa?
“There are actually things to do here for fun. I came from California so I was a little worried.”
Costanzo finished the year second on the team in digs with a 2.81 average.
What is your worst fear?
“Not being able to work out.”
How would your teammates describe you?
“Laidback and maybe a little quiet. I’m a big believer on trust.”
What is something few people know about you?
“I like to drink pickle juice.”
If you could be a star in any sport, other than volleyball, what would it be and why?
“I’d be a gymnast. When I was little I would try to do what they did in my living room, but I’ve always been too tall to even try it.”
What is your biggest pet peeve?
“When people use my things and then just throw it somewhere.”
What do you do to unwind after a match?
What movie have you watched the most amount of times and why?
“Moulin Rouge. The first time I watched it, I thought it was so weird. For some reason I became attached and kept watching it. I think I love it so much because every time I see it, I see something in the movie itself that I hadn’t before. If you don’t like the movie for the story line, you have to appreciate it for its amazing cinematography.”
