What impresses you most about the coaching staff?
“The fact that they care a lot about their players and they are always there in the good times and bad times.”

What has been your favorite road trip?
“The Ball State trip. I played a great tournament and I had a lot of fun.”

If you compete against any professional tennis player, who would it be and why?
“Juan Carlos Ferrero because he is my favorite player.”

What has been your most memorable tennis moment?
“When I won my first national championship in Ecuador. It was also my first trophy.”

Valarezo began his Hawkeye career advancing to the semifinals of the B Flight main draw at the Ball State Invitational.

How would you describe yourself on the court? Off the court?
“On the court I’m very aggressive and trying to win. Off the court I’m a very easygoing guy. I try to enjoy every moment.”

What do you do to prepare before or unwind after a match?
“I just stay focused and listen to music.”

What would you be doing if you weren’t playing tennis?
“I’d be playing baseball. I love it!”

If you could trade places with anyone for a day, who would it be and why?
“I would trade places with my dad because I’d like to see if I can be as strong as he has been in life after suffering through so many things, one of them was losing his dad at the age of 14.”

What is the best advice you have ever been given?
“Think before acting and never try to hurry things in live. Things come with the time. Never waste an opportunity.”

What movie have you watched the most of times and why?
“Rudy. I like it because of its deep meaning and because I like how he tried as hard as he could to reach his dreams and goals.”
