IOWA CITY – University of Iowa soccer player Katelyn Quinn was named to the Soccer Buzz Great Lakes region third team. Quinn was a Soccer Buzz honorable mention all-American and a member of the Great Lakes region all-Freshman team last season.
Quinn, a sophomore forward, was Iowa’s top offensive threat in 2003. The native of Highlands Ranch, CO, led the Hawkeyes with 23 points (11 goals and 1 assist) on 76 shots. In the final game of the season, Quinn exploded as she recorded the sixth hat trick in Iowa history in the 4-0 win over Northern Iowa.
In just two seasons with the Hawkeyes, Quinn has scored 22 goals, which ranks her third in the Iowa record books. She is tied for second in game-winning goals (7), third in shots (139) and fourth in points (50).
The Hawkeyes finished the season with a 4-12-2 record.
