Iowa to Host Georgia Tech and Kansas State

This Week: The Iowa women’s tennis team hosts the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets Saturday and the Kansas State Wildcats Sunday. Competition will begin at 10 a.m. both days in the UI Recreation Building.

The Yellow Jackets: The Yellow Jackets are 30th in the ITA rankings with a 1-1 record. They have recorded a win over Minnesota and a loss against #17 William & Mary. Georgia Tech hosts Middle Tennessee State Wednesday before traveling to Iowa.

The Wildcats: The Wildcats are 41st in the rankings with a 2-1 record. Their victories have been against Utah and Wichita State, with a loss to No. 31 Mississippi. Junior Maria Rosenberg was named this week’s Co-Big 12 Player of the Week.

Newsworthy Against Marquette: The Hawkeyes won against Marquette, 6-1. The only point lost to Marquette was a forfeit at the No. 6 spot.

In the Rankings: The Hawkeyes moved down two spots to 68th in the ITA Rankings. The rankings are voted on by every member of the ITA Regional Committee.
