Hawkeyes Finish Ninth at Big Ten Meet

MINNEAPOLIS, MN —

The University of Iowa women’s swimming team finished in ninth place today at the 2004 Big Ten Championships. Michigan won the meet after starting the final day in third place.

Iowa’s Jennifer Skolaski placed second in the 200-back with a time of 1:57.51, breaking her season best 2:02.69 five seconds. Jaclyn Sarna placed 29th in the 1,650-free event with a time of 18:30.90. The 400-free relay team of Skolaski, Christie Hooper, Katie Martin, and Abby Van Maaren finished ninth with a time of 3:24.18, a Hawkeye season best.

Iowa’s next meet is the Iowa Senior Championships, March 5-7, at the UI Field House Pool.
