The 12th-ranked Iowa GymHawks defeated the Minnesota Gophers, 196.025-195.750, Friday evening at the Field House. The Hawkeyes won every individual event title and the all-around to capture a win over Minnesota.
Senior Alexis Maday won the all-around crown with a 39.675. She also won bars with a school record-tying 9.975, won floor (9.95), tied for first on beam (9.9) and tied for second on vault (9.85). Senior Stephanie Gran finished second in the all-around, winning vault (9.925), tying for first on beam (9.9) and tying for second on floor (9.9).
Other top finishes for Iowa included Kortny Williamson tying for second on vault (9.85) and floor (9.9) and Liz Grajewski tying for second on floor (9.9).
The GymHawks will compete next when they travel to Seattle to take on Washington and Utah Friday, March 5 at 7:00 p.m.
