PARK RIDGE, IL — The Big Ten Conference is well underway with its plans to implement instant replay for the 2004 football season.
Hardware, software, personnel and communications issues have been addressed and are presently ‘under construction’.
The objective is precise: To allow for specific types of officiating mistakes to be quickly reviewed and corrected. The standard is high: There must be indisputable video evidence, with the exclusive source of such evidence the video of the television broadcast.
