Oct. 6, 2004

Iowa women’s basketball fans can get a sneak preview of the 2004-05 Hawkeyes when Iowa holds an open practice Saturday, Oct 16, from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. in Carver-Hawkeye Arena. This will be Iowa’s first official practice of the season.

Doors will open at 9 a.m. and the event is free to the public. Herky will make an appearance to help tip-off the 2004-05 season. The practice will take place before the Iowa vs. Ohio State football game in Kinnick Stadium.

Following the practice, players and coaches will be available for autographs from 1-2 p.m. in the Rally Alley, which is located adjacent to the baseball field across the street from Carver-Hawkeye Arena.

Iowa returns seven letterwinners, including three starters, from last year’s squad that finished 16-13 overall, tied for fourth in the Big Ten with a 10-6 mark and advanced to the NCAA Tournament. Hawkeye fans will also get a first look at Iowa’s four talented freshmen. Iowa opens the season Nov. 4, when the Hawkeyes host Australian Institute of Sport in an exhibition game in Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
