Iowa’s football team guaranteed itself a winning 2004 season and earned a trip to the post-season with its 23-13 victory over Illinois Saturday at wind-swept Memorial Stadium in Champaign.
The win was the Hawkeyes’ fourth in a row and second straight on the road. Iowa will carry a 6-2 overall record and a 4-1 mark into November with Purdue being the first of three difficult “Crunch Time” contests for Kirk Ferentz’s squad.
