So, you want to go bowling with Coach Kirk Ferentz’s 2004 Iowa Hawkeyes. Well, here’s the game plan with respect to bowl game tickets.
The University of Iowa believes it could receive its official invitation to its fourth straight bowl game Monday (Nov. 22) or Tuesday (Nov. 23). Conventional wisdom says now that Iowa has defeated Wisconsin to claim a share of this year’s Big Ten Conference title, the Hawkeyes will play in the 2005 Capital One Bowl in Orlando.
It is possible that Iowa may not learn its bowl destination until Dec. 5. This is possible, but – realistically – unlikely.
2004 Iowa Football season ticket customers and select contributors to the National I-Club who are not current season ticket customers were mailed a 2004-05 University of Iowa Bowl Game Ticket Application on Friday, Nov. 19. Depending on your mailing address, you could receive that application as early as Saturday, Nov. 20, or, more likely, early next week.

Beginning Saturday, Nov. 20, 2004 Iowa Football season ticket holders will be able to order their bowl game tickets by telephone by calling the UI Athletic Ticket Office at 1-800-IA-HAWKS or by going online at hawkeyesports.com, the official world wide web site of the Iowa Hawkeyes.
Season ticket holders who have purchased UI athletic tickets online previously will simply submit their account number or e-mail to begin their online order. Season ticket holders who have not purchased online in the past will need to register with the UI’s online ticket office. Either way, online ticketing is safe, secure and easy.

The UI Athletic Ticket Office will begin accepting and processing bowl game ticket orders from friends and fans who are not 2004 Iowa Football season ticket holders immediately after the UI officially accepts an invitation to participate in a 2004-05 bowl game. Those fans will also have the option of ordering over the telephone (1-800 IA-HAWKS), online at hawkeyesports.com, or in person at the Ui Athletic Ticket Office.
The UI Department of Intercollegiate Athletics encourages fans and friends of the Iowa Hawkeyes to purchase their bowl game tickets through the UI Athletic Ticket Office. By doing so, you help the University of Iowa fulfill its obligation to the bowl game that the Hawkeyes are participating in and you guarantee yourself seats with other friends and fans of the Iowa Hawkeyes.
As in the past, seat locations inside the stadium where Iowa will play its bowl game will be assigned by your ticket priority. Should you have questions about your priority, the ordering process or bowl game tickets in general, please don’t hesitate to contact the UI Athletic Ticket Office at 1-800 IA-HAWKS or visit the office any weekday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The UI Athletic Ticket Office is located at the north entrance of Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
2005 Bowl Game Tours
Fans of the Hawkeyes have two choices if they want someone else to do their bowl game planning for them. As always, the University of Iowa Alumni Association will sponsor a tour to whatever bowl game the Hawkeyes participate in. So, too, will Winebrenner Red Carpet Travel. Both offer friends and fans of the Iowa Hawkeyes the ease of having someone else do the planning for them.

The following summarizes the most likely options for the 2004 Iowa Hawkeyes when it comes to bowl games and ticket prices.

The UI Department of Intercollegiate Athletics will place a surcharge of $10 on each bowl game ticket ordered regardless of the game. It will also charge a $20 processing fee for each ticket order.

The UI Department of Intercollegiate Athletics strongly encourages you to place your order for 2004-05 bowl game tickets online at hawkeyesports.com. It’s secure. It’s fast. And, it’s the most efficient method of processing and delivery.
The deadline to place an order for 2004-05 bowl game tickets and retain your UI Athletic Department ticket priority is Friday, Dec. 3. The UI Athletic Department will mail bowl game tickets by Wednesday, Dec. 15.
Your order for 2004-05 bowl game tickets will be filled based on your existing UI Athletic Department ticket priority.
If your 2004-05 bowl game ticket order can not be filled with the priced ticket that you requested and lower priced tickets are available, the UI Athletic Department will fill your order with the next lower priced ticket available.
If demand for 2004-05 bowl game tickets exceeds the supply provided the UI Athletic Department by the bowl game and you do not have the appropriate ticket priority, your order for 2004-05 bowl game tickets will not be filled.
Your credit card will not be charged for 2004-05 bowl game tickets until the UI Athletic Department accepts an invitation to participate in a 2004-05 bowl game.
Your credit card will be charged a processing fee immediately upon receipt of your application by the UI Athletic Department. If you ticket order is not filled, the processing fee ($20) will be refunded.
The UI Athletic Department will not issue a refund once an order for 2004-05 bowl game tickets has been processed.
Your order must arrive at the UI Athletic Ticket Office by Friday, Dec. 3, to receive priority consideration.
THE SUBMISSION OF AN APPLCIATION FOR 2004-05 BOWL GAME TICKETS DOES NOT GUARANTEE YOUR ORDER WILL BE FILLED OR, IF IT IS FILLED, THAT YOU WILL RECEIVE THE NUMBER OF TICKETS REQUESTED.
TICKET LIMITS
You may request more tickets than the stated limit, but if demand exceeds supply, your order may be reduced to the state limit or canceled entirely, depending upon your ticket priority.

Golden Hawks – 4 tickets
All other I-Club giving levels – 2 tickets
