THIS WEEK — Iowa will open the 2005 spring season in New Orleans, LA at the River City Classic. This event will be held on February 14th and 15 at Eastover Country Club. The event is being hosted by the Unviversity of New Orleans.

LAST MEET — The Iowa men’s golf team finished in second on October 25th at the Big Four Championship. The Hawkeyes were fairly consistent for all 36 holes played. They were only one shot behind Drake after 18 holes, but fell seven strokes behind after 36 to claim second. Todd Larson and Andy Tiedt led Iowa with a fourth place finishes.

PLAYING FOR CADE — Iowa golfers will be playing with a heavy heart this season. MVP of the 2004 season Cade Pleggenkuhle died in a motorcycle accident on February 5, 2004.

HEAD COACH Terry Anderson — Anderson is in his 12th year as Iowa’s head coach. Anderson was a four-year letterman at Iowa State. He also serves as the Director of Golf at Iowa’s Finkbine Golf Course. He was named the PGA Golf Professional of the Year for the Iowa PGA Section in 1998 and 2004.
