ANN ARBOR, MI – The University of Iowa finished competition today in the 2005 Big Ten Indoor Championships. The Hawkeyes finished in ninth place in the team competition with 39 points while the hometown Michigan Wolverines won gold with 130 points to defend their team title.

Sophomore Peaches Roach was the lone Iowa gold medalist. Roach won the high jump by clearing 5-10.75 to win her second indoor title in that event. Freshman Kineke Alexander won silver in the 400 meter dash with a time of 54.31. Three other Iowa competitors also set new collegiate marks in their respective events.

The Hawkeye women will compete in Ames, Iowa, next weekend in a NCAA Qualifying Last Chance Meet.
