- Listen to the games online!
- Watch Lisa’s weekly visit with the media live!
- Listen to the Hawkeyes on XM Radio
Watching and waiting…for the official word. That – and watching a lot of games at the 2005 Iowa Girls Basketball Tournament in Des Moines – is how Lisa Bluder and her staff is spending this “down week” in the women’s college basketball season.
Oh, yeah, they’re also squeezing in a little basketball practice because Bluder’s Bunch will no doubt be playing more basketball. And, if ESPN has it right, the Hawkeyes will be officially part of the NCAA’s March Madness when the sun sets on Selection Sunday.
A trip to the East Cost for a date with Virginia may be in the cards for Bluder’s Bunch.

According to Charlie Crème, the Hawkeyes – winners of 20 of 29 games during the 2004-05 regular season – will be packing their bags and heading to Storrs, Conn., as the No. 11 seed in the Chattanooga bracket. Iowa’s first round opponent would be No. 6 seed Virginia and dame day would be Sunday, March 20
The winner would play the survivor of No. 3 Notre Dame versus No. 14 Bowling Green.
If extended, the invitation would be Iowa’s second straight to the NCAA’s post-season party. The Hawkeyes were dealt an 89-76 loss by Virginia Tech in last year’s first round. The invitation would also be Iowa’s fourth in five seasons under Bluder’s direction.
