Hawkeyes In Another Recruit

IOWA CITY, IA – Iowa Men’s Swimming Interim Head Coach Marc Long announced that prep swimmer Nick Divan, from San Juan Capistrano, CA signed a National Letter of Intent to attend The University of Iowa.

Divan attends Mission Viejo High School. In the current rankings for 17-18 boys by USA Swimming he is ranked 3rd in the 1,000 freestyle, 3rd in the 1,650 freestyle and 11th in the 500 freestyle. His 4×200 freestyle relay team finished second at the United States National Championships. He placed 15th in the 800 free (long course) and 23rd in the 1,500 free (long course) at the United States National Championships. Divan is also a five-time High School All-American, two-time USA Swimming Scholastic all-American, 2004 Mission Viejo High School Most Valuable Player and 2004 Mission Viejo High School team captain. In addition he was elected by the Southern California Swimming Board of Directors as a Senior Athlete Representative.

Divan is the younger brother of current Hawkeye swimmer Paul Divan.
