THIS WEEK — The Iowa Men’s Golf team will head to the Big Ten Championships in Madison, WI, May 6-8. Last year Iowa finished in 9th place.

The 11-team field will participate in a 54-hole invitational to be played on the par 72, 6,888-yard University Ridge Golf Course. Eighteen holes will be played each day with play beginning at 8 a.m. To follow all the Big Ten Championship action live visit www.golfstat.com.

LAST TIME OUT — The Iowa Men’s Golf finished the final round of the Bruce Fossum Invitational in 12th place. On the first day of competition the Hawkeyes were in 11th place, but after carding a score of 307(+19) in the final round they dropped a spot and finished in 12th.

The top individual performers for Iowa were Jon Feldick and Dan Holterhaus who both finished tied for 33rd with a score of 225(+9).

MILLER BACK IN LINEUP — Junior Luke Miller will return to the Iowa lineup this weekend. He has been out of action since April 16 due to a sprained ankle. Miller currently leads the team with 73.9 average.

HEAD COACH Terry Anderson — Anderson is in his 12th year as Iowa’s head coach. He also serves as the Director of Golf at Iowa’s Finkbine Golf Course. He was named the PGA Golf Professional of the Year for the Iowa PGA Section in 1998 and 2004. Anderson was a four-year letterman at Iowa State.

QUOTING COACH ANDERSON — “It’s a big weekend and we know that we are big underdogs, but we have nothing to lose and I really like our lineup this week. We have Luke Miller back, and I think that will give our team a nice boost.”
