USA Basketball Earns Three Wins at World University Games

The United States team participating in the World University Games, which includes Iowa senior forward Greg Brunner, has opened the competition with three victories to advance to second round play.

The USA squad opened with a 94-47 win over Iran, defeated Slovakia 85-70 and Germany 72-62. The USA team will face China Tuesday and the Czech Republic Wednesday in second round action. The quarter-finals are Thursday, the semi-finals Friday and the championship game Sunday.

Brunner has seen action in all three games, collecting nine points, eight rebounds and two steals.
