The USA men’s basketball team advanced to the gold medal game at the World University Games with a 120-80 semi-final win over Russia. The USA will face Ukraine in the final game Sunday afternoon. Ukraine advanced with a 69-63 win over Serbia & Montenegro.

Iowa forward Greg Brunner again played a key role for the USA, collecting 10 points, three rebounds, two assists and a steal. Brunner was 2-2 from the field and added 6-8 free throws in the win. Brunner has totaled 31 points and 41 rebounds seven games.

Six USA players scored in double figures in the semi-final win, with Randy Foye of Villanova scoring 20 and Duke’s Shelden Williams adding 20 points and 10 rebounds.
