IOWA CITY, IA — The Iowa men’s golf team hosted day one of the 2005 Hawkeye Intercollegiate at Finbkbine Golf Course. The Hawkeyes finished the first 36 holes in third place with a team score of 580 strokes. Western Illinois holds the lead with a score of 558 strokes.
The Hawkeyes’ top performers who competed for the team were senior Luke Miller (E, T8) and freshman Cole Peevler (E, T8) both of whom carded a round of even par and currently are tied for eighth place. Andy Tiedt (+2, T14), Jon Feldick (+3, T19) and Brian deBuhr (+8, T35) also competed. Some Hawkeyes also competed as individuals in this tournament. The top performers were Todd Larson(-6, 3) and Zack Anderson(E, T8). Dan Holterhaus (+5, T23), Adam Fraser (+6,T26), Bennett Hammerberg (+7, T31), Kyle Hougham (+15, 46) and Robby Storm (+16, 47) also competed.
The final round of the Hawkeye Intercollegiate concludes tomorrow at 9 a.m.
