Iowa Earns National Ranking

Oct. 17, 2005

IOWA CITY — The University of Iowa’s women’s cross country is ranked 30th nationally in the latest FinishLynx Women’s NCAA Division-I cross country poll that was released Monday. This is the first time the Hawkeyes have received votes since the first poll of the season was released on September 21.

“This is a great momentum builder as the team prepares for the Big Ten Championship in two weeks. There are currently over 300 Division-I teams so this puts us in the company of some select schools,” said Head Coach Layne Anderson.

Iowa’s next scheduled competition is at the Big Ten Championships on October 30, in Minneapolis, MN.
