Coach Steve Alford is a father and he knows that children like to wear their Halloween costume not once, not twice, but as often as they can.
So, he’s inviting young – and old – fans of the Iowa Hawkeyes to attend the second annual Halloween Hoops event Sunday, Oct. 30, at Carver-Hawkeye Arena. Doors will open at 5 p.m. and all attendees in costume will receive a handful of treats ranging from candy and a chance to secure an autograph from their favorite Hawkeye to a tour of the team locker room and other support facilities to a free tickets to a home game of the 2005-06 Hawkeyes.
Fans attending Halloween Hoops should enter award-winning Carver-Hawkeye Arena from at the West Entrance. The team will practice from 5 to 6 p.m. After practice, all children in costume will be invited to participate in a “Costume Parade” where the Hawkeyes will randomly select winners of a variety of prizes.
