CHICAGO, IL – The University of Iowa men’s gymnastics team finished fourth (6 teams) tonight at the Windy City Invitational hosted by the University of Illinois-Chicago. The GymHawks scored a team total of 205.900. Ohio State won the meet with 211.650 total team points.
Senior Michael Reavis placed first (53.050), sophomore Tom Buese finished fifth (49.900) and freshman Curtis Kleffman finished ninth (38.800) in the all-around competition. Reavis also came in second place (9.450) in the floor exercise, placed fourth (9.250) on the vault and sixth (8.650) on the parallel bars. Buese also finished second (9.300) on the horizontal bar. Freshman Geoff Reins finished first (9.400) on the vault and sixth (9.100) on the floor exercise. Senior Jack Bouchard placed sixth (9.000) on still rings while sophomore Jake Becker finished fifth (8.650) on pommel horse.
The GymHawks will be back in Chicago January 21 to compete against the University of Illinois-Chicago. Competition will begin at 7:00 p.m.
