You’ve seen the pictures, but now you’re curious about the plan.
Schematics indicating what the east and west concourses of historic Kinnick Stadium will look like when work is completed next August, visit kinnickrenovation.com, the official world wide web site of the multi-million dollar renovation of the home of the University of Iowa’s nationally ranked football program and click on the “Artist Renderings and Schematics” link in the drop-down menu behind “Photo Galleries.”
If you want to view pictures of the east and west concourse – and you really won’t believe what you see! – click on the “Construction Progress” link in that same drop-down menu.
The renovation of the concourses is arguably the most dramatic and significant improvement to the game-day experience of the 70,000 fans of the Iowa Hawkeyes who sit in the grandstands of Kinnick. When completed, the number of restrooms available to patrons will have more than doubled and the number of concession stands will have nearly tripled.
Some fans of the Hawkeyes have also e-mailed recently asking about parking around historic Kinnick Stadium and what that will look like in terms of priority parking passes and access to certain areas. Staff of the UI Athletic Department, the National I-Club, Facilities Management and UI Parking will be meeting during the coming months to arrive at the plan. As always, the final plan will be detailed on hawkeyesports.com and shared directly with those affected.
