IOWA CITY, IA – The seventh-ranked University of Iowa men’s gymnastics team fell to No. 5 Illinois Sunday in Carver-Hawkeye Arena, 217.6-214.4.

Michael Reavis came in first in the all-around with a season best score of 55.0. He came in third on vault (9.250), parallel bars (9.4) and horizontal bar (9.4). On floor exercise, Reavis came in first (9.7) and Curtis Kleffman came in fifth (9.150).

Jacques Bouchard led the Hawkeyes on rings with a score of 9.45 for first. Matt Beiler came in second (9.25). Diego Mercado-Austin came in a tie for first on vault, scoring 9.3.

The Hawkeyes travel to Minneapolis to compete against Minnesota on Friday for their final meet before hosting the Big Ten Championships on March 24-25. Competition is set to begin at 7 p.m.
