Larson Named Big Ten Golfer of the Week

March 16, 2006

Iowa golfer Todd Larson earned the first Big Ten Golfer of the Week honor of his career today after placing ninth and helping the Hawkeyes to a fifth-place finish at this past week’s South Alabama Spring Classic.

The junior’s three-round total of 218, which was 2-over-par for the tournament, was highlighted by even-par 72s in the first and third rounds. He posted a 74 in the second round, but rebounded to record his third top 10 finish of the season.

Larson is Iowa’s first recipient of the conference honor since Luke Miller was honored on Feb. 17, 2005.

Iowa returns to action next weekend when it competes in the Furman Invitational, March 25-26.
