The University of Iowa Athletics Department seeks applications for an assistant women’s rowing coach.

Responsibilities: Assist the head coach in all aspects of the management and coaching of a Division I rowing program. Assist with coordination of recruiting (including travel, visits and correspondence), summer camps and all other areas of the program as assigned by the head coach. Must be committed to the development of a high caliber program and conducting the program in accordance with the philosophy of the athletic department.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required; Master’s preferred. Required qualifications: Excellent knowledge of the techniques and strategies of rowing; demonstrated knowledge of the NCAA rules and a commitment to adhere to all rules and regulations of the University of Iowa, the Big Ten Conference and the NCAA; demonstrated experience working effectively in a diverse environment; excellent communication skills; effective organization and administrative skills. Preferred qualifications: Three years intercollegiate rowing and/or club level coaching experience and/or women’s collegiate competitive experience.

Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Terms of Employment: Full-time, 12-month appointment with full University benefits, annually renewable, beginning on or about July 11, 2006.
