IOWA CITY –

Iowa’s Head Women’s Golf Coach, Bobbe Carney announced Alison Cavanaugh has signed a National Letter of intent to play at Iowa. Cavanaugh will join the Hawkeye squad in the fall of 2006.

Cavanaugh, from Denver, CO, is a two-time Heritage High School Most Valuable Player. She was a first team all-state selection by the Denver Post and an all-Colorado pick by the Rocky Mountain News, the last two years. She was team captain her junior and senior years.

In her senior season, Cavanaugh carded a season scoring average of 76 with a low round of 73. Academics are another strong point; she is in the National Honors Society and ranked in the top ten in her class.
