I-Club Tour: Next Week's Schedule

May 3, 2006

The National I-Club’s annual spring banquet tour continues the week of Monday, May 8, with stops in Waterloo, Arcadia and Decorah.

The “Black Team” of speakers anchored by Kirk Ferentz, head coach of the UI football team, will join fans of the Hawkeyes at the Black Hawk County I-Club event on Monday, the Carroll Area I-Club on Wednesday and the Northeast Iowa I-Club event on Thursday.

Three more events are scheduled next week: Sioux City, Kansas City and Burlington. The Sioux City stop will also feature the “Black Team” of speakers. The Kansas City event will include a variety of head coaches and administrators. The Burlington gathering will feature the “Gold Team” anchored by UI men’s basketball coach Steve Alford.

“These events are an excellent opportunity for fans to get a closer look at our programs,” said Matt Henderson, executive director of the National I-Club.

“The tour gives us a chance to thank thousands of loyal fans for their generous support of Iowa athletics and let them know how their financial support through the I-Club has made a significant impact on the success of our programs. It’s also an opportunity to celebrate the accomplishments of this year’s teams and look forward to the upcoming season.”
