Families, friends and fans of the Iowa Hawkeyes – young and old – are invited to “Picnic with the Legends” on Saturday, June 10, at the UI Athletics Hall of Fame and Museum.
“Picnic with the Legends” is the latest addition to the annual summer activity of the National Iowa Varsity Club” and it will include the first public announcement of the 2006 class of inductees into the University of Iowa’s intercollegiate athletics hall of fame.
All members of the National Iowa Varsity Club are invited to “Picnic with the Legends” and more than 60 former Hawkeyes have already indicated that they plan on being in attendance. Those former student-athletes in addition to current members of the UI administrative and coaching staffs and current student-athletes who also add the event to their calendars will be available for photographs and autographs beginning at 1:30 p.m.
The announcement of the 2006 inductees into the hall of fame will be made at 3 p.m.
The “Picnic with the Legends” event is a free activity and includes access to the UI Athletics Hall of Fame and Museum. Attendees have the option of purchasing lunch for $10.
All attendees will be eligible for a variety of door prizes including an “All-Access Pass” to all activities scheduled for the National Iowa Varsity Club’s “Hall of Fame Weekend” Sept. 1-2 including four tickets to the Iowa-Montana football game and atour historic Kinnick Stadium.
