IOWA CITY – Former University of Iowa outfielder Nate Price has been signed to a professional contract by the Chicago Cubs.
Price was a second team all-Big Ten selection as a junior, when he hit .320 with 28 RBIs and 15 stolen bases. As a senior, the Battle Creek, MI, native hit .278 with 33 RBIs and 17 stolen bases. He led the team with 59 hits.
“It’s great to see Nate get a shot in professional baseball,” Iowa Head Coach Jack Dahm said. “He has a lot of the tools scouts look for, so I look forward to seeing what he can do at the next level.”
