Iowa graduated senior Andy Tiedt has been named a Golf Coaches Association of America All-America Scholar for both his academic and athletic accomplishments.
This marks the second-consecutive year he has earned this honor and marks the eighth time a student-athlete has earned this honor during Head Coach Terry Anderson’s 12-year tenure.
To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be at least a junior, play in 70 percent of his respective team’s tournaments, have a 77.0 stroke average or better and a 3.2 GPA or higher.
Tiedt recorded a 74.9 stroke average in 12 tournaments last year. He was the only Hawkeye to play all 36 rounds. The Cedar Rapids native was Iowa’s top finisher at the Big Ten Championships last April as he placed 34th.
