IOWA CITY — Protect Drew Tate. Play error-free football. Establish some kind of running game. Get a turnover…or three.
Ask Gary Dolphin, the voice of the Hawkeyes, and he will tell you that these are some of the things that need to happen today if the nationally ranked Iowa Hawkeyes expect to do what the college football world thinks unthinkable: Upset No. 2 ranked Michigan in the “Big House.”
Game time is set for 2:30 p.m. Iowa time. The game will be televised live by ABC. The Hawkeye Radio Network begins its coverage at 12:30 p.m.
” Iowa must counter (Michigan’s effective pass rush) by at least trying to establish the run. That will allow Tate to set up some runningback and receiver screens,” offers Dolphin in his “View from the Press Box,” the latest addition to , the multi-media area of hawkesports.com.
“Thats the best way to slow down the rush. Having said that the Hawkeyes must execute plays. Hang onto passes, run precise routes and don’t turn the ball over. Iowa is minus six in turnover margin. That needs to improve.”
Fans can listen to Dolphin’s weekly offering on Iowa football by visiting the “Features” page inside the football area of Hawkeye All-Access. Subscribers to Hawkeye All-Access also receive the following programming each week during the college football season:
