Tonight’s 77-59 loss in front of a season-high 5,035 fans was Iowa’s first of the season. Iowa falls to 3-6 against Louisiana Tech.
Iowa posted season lows in points (59), field goal percentage (.362), 3-point field goal percentage (.214), steals (2) free throws made (14) and offensive rebounds (13). Louisiana Tech out-scored Iowa 18-4 in second chance points and 20-1 in points off turnovers.
Junior Jenee Graham matched a career-high with 14 rebounds. Megan Skouby was one rebound from notching her first career double-double. Skouby scored 12 of her team-high 16 points in the second half and pulled down nine rebounds in defeat. She also equaled a season high with four blocks.
Louisiana Tech entered tonight’s game shooting 31.6 percent from behind the 3-point arc. Tonight, the Lady Techsters drained 53.8 percent (7-13) of their triples, including 66.7 percent (6-9) in the first half.
Two Louisiana Tech players recorded double-doubles: Ty Moore (14 points, 10 rebounds) and JoKierra Sneed (12 points, 10 rebounds).
Iowa was out-rebounded 30-19 in the first half, but out-rebounded the Lady Techsters 23-15 in the second stanza.
Iowa had two players foul out for the first time this season. Point guard Kristi Smith fouled out with 2:39 left in the contest, while center Megan Skouby was whistled for her fifth foul with 38 seconds remaining.
