COLUMBUS, OH – The University of Iowa men and women’s swimming and diving team traveled to Columbus to compete in the Ohio State Invite Sunday. The Hawkeye women finished fourth with 393 points and the men finished seventh with 184 points.
Sophomore Ashley Dell led the Hawkeyes on Sunday with a fourth place finish in the 1,650 freestyle (17:14.65). Fellow sophomore Alison Gschwend garnered a fifth place finish in the 200 backstroke (2:03.48). Freshmen Christine Kuczek came in 10th in the 100 freestyle (52.38) and Julie Feingold was fifth in the 200 breaststroke (2:22.13). Freshmen Margie Chamberlin and Laura Mozdzen added eighth (2:06.37) and ninth (2:05.74) place finishes in the 200 butterfly respectively.
Junior Dragos Agache led the Iowa men with a third place finish in the 200 breaststroke (2:02.96). Freshman Wil Whaley brought home a fourth place finish in the 200 backstroke (1:48.44) and sophomore Nick Divan placed seventh in the 1,650 freestyle (15:50.11).
