FALL RECAP — The Iowa women’s golf team opened the season with a victory at the Hawkeye Intercollegiate. The team finished in the top ten in all five of its fall tournaments and etched its name in the school record books. At the GSU/Pelican Preserve Invitational the Hawkeyes carded a 290 in the final round. It was the best 18-hole team performance in the Iowa record book.
Karla Murra — Murra led Iowa in two of the five fall tournaments. At the first and final tournaments of the fall, she finished second (228, 217). Murra is second on the team in scoring average, with a 77. Her 217 in the final tournament of the spring etched her name in Iowa’s record book for best 54-hole performance.
SENIORS — With no seniors on the 2005-06 roster, this year’s seniors are making a big impact. Riepma and Murra have each led the Hawkeyes in three of five fall tournaments.
QUOTING HEAD COACH Kelly Crawford — “I’m looking forward to the spring season. I hope we can keep up the momentum coming off our best tournament finish in the fall. I think the girls are all ready to start the season.”
