UI to host women's basketball coaching clinic

IOWA CITY — University of Iowa head women’s basketball coach Lisa Bluder will host the first-ever Iowa Women’s Basketball Coaches Clinic on Saturday, Oct. 20, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Carver-Hawkeye Arena. Registration deadline is Friday, Sept. 28.

Cost is $45 for the head coach of any school and $40 for every additional assistant coach. Included in the clinic fee are meals, coaching notebook materials and a basketball diagram pad. Coaches of all levels will be able to interact with Coach Bluder and the Hawkeye staff and receive detailed practice plans.

The clinic will also feature two guest speakers — Kim Muhl of Kirkwood (Iowa) Community College and Caryn Jarocki of Highlands Ranch (Colo.) High School. Muhl’s session is called “Offensive Play Calls” and Jarocki will speak on “Championship Basketball.”

The clinic is sponsored by University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and University of Iowa Children’s Hospital.
