IOWA CITY — Weekend package tickets for University of Iowa men’s basketball games against four Big Ten opponents, along with single game tickets for all non-conference games, are now on sale.
The Weekend Package includes home games against Michigan State (Jan. 12), Penn State (Jan. 26), Ohio State (Feb. 2) and Illinois (Mar. 1-2) and costs $100. Ohio State won the Big Ten title last season and advanced to the NCAA championship game, while Michigan State and Illinois both advanced to the NCAA Tournament. Over 500 weekend package tickets were sold in the first two days the tickets became available.
Single game tickets are also available for Iowa’s 10 non-conference home games. The single game cost is $20 for seven of the 10 games, while games versus Wake Forest (Nov. 26) and Drake (Dec. 14) are $25. Tickets for the Nov. 1 exhibition against Simpson are $10. Single game tickets for Big Ten home games go on sale Dec. 4.
Along with the single game tickets for non-conference games, a $10 youth ticket is also available for games against Idaho State (Nov. 9), Northern Colorado (Nov. 14), Florida Gulf Coast (Nov. 18), Maryland Eastern shore (Nov. 20), both nights of the Hawkeye Challenge (Nov. 30-Dec. 1) and Southeastern Louisiana (Dec. 29). The Youth Ticket is available for anyone age 18 and under.
Tickets may be ordered in person at the Athletic Ticket Office in Carver-Hawkeye Arena, on the internet at www.hawkeyesports.com, Iowa’s official site on the world wide web, or by calling 1-800-IA-HAWKS.
“Season tickets sales to the general public, faculty and staff and UI students are all ahead of sales from a year ago,” said Toby Trail, the UI’s director of marketing. “With Coach Lickliter and his staff, along with an attractive home schedule, we anticipate another increase in both season ticket and single game sales.”
Fans will have their first opportunity to see the Hawkeyes in action on Saturday, Oct. 27 during the 16th annual Black and Gold Blowout, which follows Iowa’s Big Ten Conference football game against Michigan State.
The Hawkeyes open the Todd Lickliter era with an exhibition contest against Simpson College on Thursday, Nov. 1 (7:05 p.m., Big Ten Network). Iowa opens the regular season Friday, Nov. 9, hosting Idaho State (8:05 p.m., BTN), in the first of four home games in 12 days.
After traveling to participate in the South Padre Island Invitational (Nov. 23-24) the Hawkeyes host Wake Forest (6:05 p.m., ESPN2) on Monday, Nov. 26 in the first game of the annual Big Ten/ACC Challenge. Iowa’s Big Ten schedule begins with a Jan. 2 home date against Indiana.
