The University of Iowa is seeking qualified applicants for Finkbine Golf Course Food & Beverage Manager. This is a nine-month position, with full University benefits.
Responsibilities
The Food & Beverage Manager is responsible for purchasing and providing quality food and beverages for customers (golfers and non golfers); supervising the preparation, serving and cleanup of the designated areas while maintaining a very sanitary work environment in a dedicated effort to support a complete recreation experience to the golfing public who visit Finkbine Golf Course. Other duties to include: Interview, hire, train, schedule and supervise part-time hourly staff for maximum customer service within the Hawk’s Nest, on the course and at outings; calculate purchasing, create menus and prepare food for pavilion outings; create policies and procedures, including alcohol control & customer billing; and adhering to the rules and regulations of the University, the Big Ten Conference and the NCAA.
Qualifications
Required qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) in Dietetics, Foods & Nutrition, Institutional Management or Hotel and Restaurant Administration, or equivalent combination of education and experience. At least one year food production supervision, cooking experience and food purchasing experience required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
Preferred qualifications: A working knowledge of golf course operation and alcohol consumption training (TIPS) is desirable. Preference will be given to candidates that can most effectively meet the food/beverage and customer service needs of the golf course operation.
Terms of Employment
Full-time, 9-month appointment with full University benefits; starting date negotiable; salary commensurate.
