IOWA CITY – – The University of Iowa Women’s Basketball Team has been selected for the 2009 Iowa Governor’s Volunteer Award for outstanding contribution of volunteer service to the community.

Head Coach Lisa Bluder and Associate Head Coach Jan Jensen will accept the award on the team’s behalf Friday, June 19 at 9:30 a.m. at the Linn-Mar High School Auditorium in Marion, IA. Linn-Mar is Coach Bluder’s high school alma mater. The team will be unable to attend as the ceremony takes place at the same time as the team’s youth summer camp in Iowa City.
