Meet the Hawkeyes: Nikki Dailey

IOWA CITY, IA – As the Iowa volleyball team enters its second week of training camp, hawkeyesports.com is catching up with another Hawkeye newcomer. Today’s freshman spotlight is Nikki Dailey, a setter from Franklin, WI.

What was your favorite memory from the 2009 season?
“The girls playing at Wisconsin and winning!”

Tell us an interesting fact about yourself?
“I secretly love writing papers though I hate reading!”

Why did you choose the University of Iowa and Iowa volleyball?
“The University is spread out and beautiful, and the volleyball program is very competitive but with great people.”

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?
“Europe, everyone has such amazing things to say about it.”

Favorite thing about the Iowa volleyball team?
“The girls act more like a family than a team”

What super power would you most like to have? Why?
“To read people’s mind because it’d make life a lot easier.”

If you could play another sport in college what would it be and why?
“Probably tennis, I’ve always wanted to experience an individual sport at a high level.”

Most played song (& by whom) on your iPod?
Airplanes by B.O.B.”

What is the best characteristic about you?
“I can find humor in almost anything. Life shouldn’t be so serious!”

What is something you can’t live without? Why?
“Music because it’s fun yet therapeutic.”

Future plans after graduating from the University of Iowa?
“Attending graduate school and pursuing a career.”
