IOWA CITY, Iowa — Former Iowa center Casey Wiegmann was named to the 2010 USA Football/NFLPA All-Fundamentals Team – Offense, USA Football announced today. During his career with the Hawkeyes, Wiegmann was a three-year letterman (1993-95).

Twenty-six players (11 offense, 11 defense, 4 special teams) are chosen for this annual distinction based on an ability to consistently execute the fundamentals of their positions and for making a positive impact on their communities.

Wiegmann has been a mainstay in the NFL since signing as an undrafted free agent in 1996. The Parkersburg, Iowa, native has played for five teams in the NFL (Indianapolis Colts, New York Jets, Chicago Bears, Kansas City Chiefs, Denver Broncos) and he currently is on his second stint with the Kansas City Chiefs. In 2009, Wiegmann was selected as a Pro Bowl alternate.

Wiegmann is joined on the USA Football/NFLPA All-Fundamentals Team – Offense by wide receivers Devone Bess (Miami Dolphins) and Kevin Walter (Houston Texans), tight end Jason Witten (Dallas Cowboys), running back LaDainian Tomlinson (NY Jets), fullback Vonta Leach (Houston Texans), quarterback Aaron Rodgers (Green Bay Packers), tackles Jake Long (Miami Dolphins) and Michael Roos (Tennessee Titans) and guards Brian Waters (Kansas City Chiefs) and Eric Wood (Buffalo Bills).
