- 24 Hawkeyes to Watch
IOWA CITY, Iowa — Head coach Megan Menzel and the University of Iowa women’s golf team is hoping to see some familiar colors during a trip out west for Spring Break.
The Hawkeyes are currently competing in the Mountain View Collegiate in Tuscon, Ariz., and will remain in the state for two matches next week against Harvard and Iowa State in Mesa at the Red Mountain Ranch Country Club. Arizona has a very large collection of Hawkeye fans and Menzel is hoping for some large Iowa galleries during the week.
“We would love to have some Hawkeye fans wearing the black and gold out to Red Mountain to watch us play over Spring Break,” Menzel said. “We have competed out west before and it’s always great to see the Tigerhawk logo when we are competing.”
Menzel is also looking forward to facing two quality opponents at a top-level facility like Red Mountain Ranch.
“The facility we are playing at is extremely nice,” Menzel said. “The players will benefit from playing a great course like this and we are also fortunate to have two solid opponents in Harvard and Iowa State.”
The Hawkeyes will face Harvard on March 18 at 2 p.m. (PT). Iowa and Iowa State will tee it up on March 19 at noon (PT).
“We are very fortunate to have this opportunity over Spring Break,” Menzel said. “It’s a perfect combination of great facilities and great opponents. We hope to have a lot of support from the Hawkeye faithful next week.”
