IOWA CITY, Iowa — The University of Iowa women’s rowing team will host its media day on Tuesday, October 8 at 3:45 p.m. at the P. Sue Beckwith Boathouse. It is the media’s first opportunity to speak with first-year head coach Andrew Carter.
The day will begin with a press conference with Carter at 3:45 p.m., followed by interview opportunities with several rowing student-athletes. In conclusion, members of the media will be able to shoot footage of the facility and the river. Areas of the boathouse include the large ergonomics room, which houses the team’s rowing machines, four large boat bays, and a state-of-the-art rowing tank that features moving water at various training speeds.
Information on Iowa’s upcoming scrimmage against Indiana, which begins on Friday, Oct. 11 at 5:10 p.m. and continues on Saturday, Oct. 12 at 8 a.m. at the boathouse, will be available at media day. Carter and the student-athletes will also talk about the annual Head of the Iowa event, which will take place on Sunday, Oct. 27 at Lake MacBride, located outside of Solon, Iowa.
