Nasenbenny Named Academic All-District

IOWA CITY, Iowa – University of Iowa soccer player Katie Nasenbenny has been named to the 2013-14 Capital One Academic All-District team. The announcement was made today by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Nasenbenny, a junior midfielder from LaGrange, Ill., is now eligible to earn Academic All-America honors following the conclusion of the season.

As a psychology and communication studies major, Nasenbenny has a cumulative GPA of 3.88. She is a two-time Academic All-Big Ten selection, a two-time Big Ten Distinguished Scholar honoree, a three-time letterwinner, and was named to the UI Dean’s List in 2012.

Nasenbenny has started all 18 matches this season for the Hawkeyes, scoring three goals and collecting one assist. She has scored 12 career goals and started 39 consecutive games dating back to the beginning of the 2012 season.

Iowa hosts Purdue in its regular season finale at the Iowa Soccer Complex on Saturday at 1 p.m. (CT).
