IOWA CITY, Iowa — The University of Iowa men’s basketball team continued its ascent up the weekly rankings. After winning Sunday’s game against Minnesota (94-73), their third straight victory since Jan. 9, the Hawkeyes climbed to 10th in both the Associated Press (AP) and USA Today Coaches polls released Monday afternoon.
Iowa has moved up the rankings in each of the last four polls. The Hawkeyes were rated 22nd in the AP poll released on Dec. 22, 20th on Jan. 6, 14th on Jan. 13, and 10th on Jan. 20.
The last time Iowa was ranked 10th or higher this late into season was Feb. 1, 1993 (ninth).
Iowa returns to action Wednesday when it travels to Ann Arbor, Mich., to take on No. 21/25 Michigan. Tipoff is slated for 6:01 p.m. (CT) at Crisler Arena.
