SAN FRANCISCO — University of Iowa men’s tennis redshirt freshman Kareem Allaf won both of his singles matches on Saturday to advance to the semifinals of the consolation bracket at the Battle of the Bay Classic.
In his first match of the day Allaf defeated Woravin Kumthonkittikul of the University of San Francisco, 6-3, 6-4.
In quarterfinal action, the Hawkeye took down Sander Gjoels-Andersen of San Diego State, 7-5, 7-6.
Allaf will continue play Sunday in the semifinals at 11:30 a.m. (PT).
